A moped car is a small and practical means of transportation, and a vehicle that can bring a lot of joy to everyday life. At Majorstuen Traffic School, we are now pleased to be able to offer basic training leading up to a moped car driver's license. With us on the team, you can be sure that you will achieve your goal of getting a moped car driver's license.
A basic traffic course is mandatory for everyone who wants to drive a vehicle of class AM147. You must have completed a basic traffic course and be over 15 years of age to participate.
If you already have a car driver's license, a basic traffic course is not necessary, and you can start straight away with the basic training.
Here you can see what the course contains. The course is divided into 4 main parts with step-by-step assessment. Throughout the training, you will work together with a driving instructor so that you become a safe driver on the road after completing the training course.

In stage 2, the objectives are mainly aimed at the student and the moped car. The student will learn to control the moped car in terms of driving techniques, without having to pay attention to other road users. Good driving skills are necessary to benefit from the training in stage 3, and will also mean that driving is economical and as environmentally friendly as possible. The student will acquire knowledge about the moped car. The knowledge will help the student learn the driving skills more quickly and with more understanding, and the student will be able to fulfill the driver's responsibility for control and supervision of the vehicle.
Mandatory practical training
4-hour course in basic vehicle maintenance. Here you will learn how to:
Get yourself and your moped car ready to drive
Starting and stopping
Gear shift, stearing and braking
Perform a safety check
In step 3, the objectives are aimed at the student's learning of traffic skills in varied road and traffic environments. Knowledge of current provisions in road traffic legislation is included. At the end of step 3, the student will drive
independently and have a level of performance close to the requirements to be able to pass a possible driving test in the class. The student must complete a mandatory traffic safety course. There is no minimum number of hours for the training. The teaching must be adapted to the student's experience and needs.
Mandatory practical training
6-hour course in basic vehicle maintenance. Here you will learn how to:
Apply systematic and automated information gathering
Master driving clearly, safely and efficiently in residential, urban, city and country road environments
Master the correct driving style in relation to any special local traffic conditions.
Mandatory step assessment
Towards the end of step 3, you will complete a level assessment. You and your teacher will together assess whether you have good enough skills to start step 4.
The objectives in step 4 are mainly aimed at the student's understanding of risk and the traffic system, as in step 1. An important prerequisite is that the topics of risk understanding, knowledge of rules and traffic as a system are covered in more detail throughout the training, although these topics are particularly emphasized at the beginning and end of the training.
The student must complete a mandatory road safety course.
The mandatory training alone is usually not enough to achieve the main goal of training for a driving license class AM147. In addition, it must be supplemented with sufficient practice through training at a traffic school, practice driving, or both.
Practical training
The mandatory road safety course is 4 hours long.
Prepare yourself and your vehicle for and plan a drive and account for conditions that you must expect to encounter and take into account during drives.
Have an understanding of the hazards associated with crossing, entering and exiting major roads and
Have an understanding of the dangers associated with driving on country roads and further develop your driving skills on such roads
Understand the special risks associated with driving a three- or four-wheel moped.
Be able to put into words your own experiences, assess your own strengths and weaknesses as a moped car driver and select areas with development potential.
Before you can apply for a driving license, you must pass the theory test. You take the theory test at your nearest traffic station and you must book an appointment in advance. As mentioned, it is important that you apply for a driving license before you show up for the theory test.
When you arrive, you must present valid identification and pay for the theory test on site. Please note that some traffic stations may have limited opening hours for theory tests. The test is taken on a PC and you will receive the result immediately.
